Markus Amann, Upasaka Bodhisattva Orgyen Tenzin Jigme, lives in Austria, a small but beautiful country in the heart of Europe. He studied Philosophy and has a Master´s degree from Vienna University. He works as a Supervisor and Philosophical Practitioner in Vienna and St. Pölten, a town very close to Austrias Capital where he lives with his wife and two children.
He started to learn Buddhist View and Meditation the ninetees with students of Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition. In 1997 he took formal refuge the first time with Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche, a Dzogchen teacher. His Buddhist name is Orgyen Tenzin Jigme.
In 2000 he met Dzogchen Khenpo Chöga Rinpoche for the first time in this lifetime. He studied with Rinpoche during some Dzogchen Lineage retreats since then. Markus gives talks, teaches Buddha Path retreats and weekend workshops in Austria.
Markus´aspiration is to spread the Buddhist teachings in Austria and Europe, to support the Austrian Dzogchen Shri Singha Sangha and to help to create an European Sangha. He loves to build bridges from European Philosophy and Christianity to the Buddhist Tradition.
