This Weekend Teaching Program will be held online and presents an ideal opportunity to deepen your understanding and experience of the teachings of the Dzogchen Lineage and the practice of The Buddha Path, and is perfectly accessible to even those who are brand new to Buddhism. Program Pricing

The costs of the full online teaching program are:

  • Adult (-64):   €180
  • Senior (65 and up), students and unemployed:   €150

There will be extra costs for staying at the DRCE.

As always the teachings and ceremonies themselves are offered free of charge, but it is traditional in Buddhism for the student to make an individual offering to the teacher during the program. You may voluntarily make an offering to the teacher at anytime during the program. It is most auspicious to do this at the beginning of the program at the end of the opening ceremony.

About the Teacher

Our highly appreciated Dharma Teacher Heini Ilmarinen first met His Eminence Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche in November 2011 when she attended her first month-retreat in Russia. Heini has been a student of Rinpoche’s since and has attended many month-long internships and shorter retreats. Heini lives in Helsinki, Finland, and is one of the main pillars of the European Sangha. She is Treasurer of the European Sangha Board, leads and teaches the Finnish Sangha, is an active member of the international IT committee of the Dzogchen Shri Singha Foundation, and does many more. Heini has a background in the sciences and enjoys uniting the Buddhist views with scientific knowledge.

About the Program

The curriculum includes in-depth teachings on the fundamental principles of Buddhism as presented in Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche’s practice text The Buddha Path. The lectures will be taught in English.

This program’s engaging approach gives students real-world skills for self-transformation, transcending suffering, and attaining True Happiness, and lays out a solid foundation for Dharma practice, both on and off the cushion.

All participants in this teaching program must attend the opening ceremony.

You cannot enter the program after the opening ceremony without the Director’s written permission.

If other members of your family or among your friends plan to attend, each person should fill-out and submit this application as soon as possible.

Please register here.

Daily Program Schedule and Sessions

There will be a published schedule before the start of the program, which will include:

  • Preliminary Practice
  • Teachings by Heini Illmarinen
  • Afternoon Tutoring and Q&A Session
  • Concluding Practice

Participants will be given ample time to cook, eat, exercise and maintain their precious human bodies. As part of your daily practice, from about 22:00 to 6:00, you will be required to maintain a vow of silence and not engage in any normal waking activities except using the bathroom. These times may vary from day to day, but the idea is that you will be laying down resting your body for 8 hours every night and not unnecessarily disturbing other people.

About the Lineage

It is extremely precious to study under an authentic master, one whose lineage can be traced all the way back to Buddha Shakyamuni. Our precious Vajra Master, H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche, is a thirty-third generation lineage holder of the Dzogchen Longchen Nyingthig and the Dzogchen Khadro Nyingthig lineages, selected by previous Dzogchen Lineage Masters in Tibet because of his profound knowledge and realization. With more than seven years of solitary cave meditation experience in the high Tibetan holy mountains, Rinpoche truly embodies the qualities of a realized practitioner and yogi. Also a vibrant and dynamic teacher and scholar, Rinpoche is a lama of the Dzogchen Monastery and professor of the Dzogchen Shri Singha University. He is a published author of numerous books in both Tibetan and English, including The Buddha Path, a practice book that encompasses all of Buddha’s teachings. The Buddha Path is available in English, Chinese, Russian, and German, and is soon to be released in Nepali, Japanese, and Spanish.
